In 1987, on a Tuesday, Chadwick Richard Energy was born in a small town with absolutely no remarkable energy resources. Meteorologists reported an unexplained lightning strike at the exact moment of his birth that knocked out power to 14 surrounding counties — but somehow lit up Chadwick's hospital room brighter than ever.

By age 12, he had already concluded that the world's reliance on oil, gas, and nuclear power was "a vibe issue." By age 19, he had drafted a 4,000-page manifesto titled "The BDE Hypothesis: Why the World Just Needs More of It."

What followed was 17 years of the most extreme, dangerous, and profoundly unnecessary globe-trotting ever undertaken by a single human — all in search of the primordial BDE source that Chadwick believed had been powering the universe since the Big Bang.

Survived the Bermuda Triangle (Twice)

Sailed through the Bermuda Triangle not once, but twice — on purpose. The second time was to go back and retrieve his hat. Both trips were uneventful. The Triangle was intimidated.

Crossed the Sahara & Antarctic Alone

Walked across the Sahara Desert solo in summer (127°F), then immediately flew to Antarctica and crossed the continent on foot. Total rest between the two: 11 minutes.

First Man to Reach the North & South Poles in One Week

Guinness World Records certified. They called him. He did not call them. He was already at the poles.

Nobel Prize for Energy Sciences (Declined)

In 2024, the Nobel Committee awarded Chadwick the prize for Physics. He declined, stating: "The only prize I need is the energy itself." The Committee has not recovered.
